1989 Chevy School Bus RV Conversion

by | Jul 7, 2017 | Skoolie

I’ve spent the past 3 months converting a 1989 Chevy Short Bus into an RV. I’ve spent the past 10-15 years thinking about small scale living specific to shipping containers. When the opportunity to purchase this school bus (for $600) presented itself, I didn’t even blink before saying “I’ll take it”.

The bus needed a little (lots) of TLC but for the asking price I just couldn’t say no. I’ll try to break down all the blog posts into mini snippets of the overall project. This first post is a general overview of the work that I did to get the bus drive-able and safe for long distance travel. Stay tuned for many more posts about modification as well as epic adventures.
